Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you and your family and friends have had a wonderful holiday week together celebrating the birth of Christ! This Christmas has been especially important to us because it is our first one in our new house! As a whole this month has been a wonderful time of celebration and togetherness. The day after Thanksgiving we were able to pick out and cut down our own Christmas trees, which is something that most of us had never experienced before. We were also able to host our very first Christmas party in our new home just last week. In conclusion, this December has been a fun time of repeating old traditions and starting new ones, we couldn’t have asked for a better holiday season. Today we enjoyed a delicious lunch that I’m sure you will want to gather ideas from in the future.

The Bird: We made our favorite recipe for Roasted Turkey that you can find in my Thanksgiving post: https://sassyssouthernkitchen.wordpress.com/2015/11/25/our-familys-thanksgiving-recipes/

Sides: There are not many things better than Scalloped Potato Casserole: Recipe coming soon,  Broccoli & Cheese Casserole: https://sassyssouthernkitchen.wordpress.com/2015/11/25/our-familys-thanksgiving-recipes/ (we doubled the ingredients this time),

Easy Molasses Rolls: Recipe coming soon, and Fruit Salad: https://sassyssouthernkitchen.wordpress.com/2016/01/05/apple-orange-banana-fruit-salad/

Desserts: What better way to end a classic southern meal than with two amazingly delicious desserts? I made a Chocolate Bar Cheesecake Cake, and an old favorite recipe for Magic Cookie Bars. All of the recipes that don’t have a link will be posted on the blog soon. I apologize for the wait! But I can’t give away all my secrets in one day…;P Plus, this week has been crazy for us, so since I haven’t had time to make a detailed Christmas post, I guess this one will have to do!

I hope you and yours have an amazing rest of the year! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
